Harold Wimberly was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. Harold attended Tiffin
University on a full Basketball Scholarship and later transferred to Eastern Michigan University we’re he graduated in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Harold has worked as a Counselor for at-risk youth and families for the last 31yrs in the Juvenile Courts, schools, and community. He currently works in the Ann Arbor Public schools as an Intervention Specialist for the last 7yrs. Harold is the Founder/CEO of New Heights Education and Training LLC since February 1998-present which allows Harold to work closely with students to teach life skill techniques that include leadership training, decision-making skills, communication skill-building as well as positive self-image. Harold has also spent several years as the Program Director for the Michigan Prisoner Reentry program of Washtenaw County which allowed him to Counsel high risk men and women coming home after being incarcerated for a minimum of 10yrs.

Harold Wimberly has a heart for people within the communities especially those that are underserved and in need of support. Harold was named Washtenaw County Counselor of the Year in 1993 and later he was awarded the Bob Rader’s National Youth Counselor of the Year Award. In 2013 Harold was also awarded the S.L Roberson Community Leader of the Year. Harold was also recognized by Ann Arbor Public Schools as Behavioral Intervention Specialist of the Year in 2017. Harold’s most recent accomplishment was also named as 2019 Community Father of the Year by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

 

Harold is certified in the following areas; Restorative Practice Circles, District First Responder for student, family, and staff in crisis, Cognitive Thinking skill building Instructor, and Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) Master Trainer.

 

Harold and his wife Angela developed a community program called Common Ground which focuses on building community and connecting neighbors through recreational activities, community food distribution program, Ballin on the Blvd free 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Community Youth and Family picnics, and Gifts of Love which provided over 850 toys to children 1-10yrs of age. Harold and his wife plan to further the efforts of Common Ground by creating resources that will address the community needs such as; job skills development, life skills training, money management and much more in the near future.

 

Harold served as the Youth Pastor along with his wife of 28yrs at Christian Love Fellowship Ministries International for the last 26yrs. On September 28, 2019, Harold was installed as  Senior Pastor of Christian Love Fellowship Ministries International. Both Harold and his wife Pastor Angela have 3 wonderful daughters and 5 grandchildren.
